BT has announced the closure of all Redcare operations from 1 August 2025. As a result, if you are a Redcare customer you will need to replace your alarm signalling equipment before this date in order to maintain a remote monitoring capability.
We would strongly recommend that you take action as soon as possible. This is because we expect there to be high demand for the supply and fit of alternative signalling products from other providers the closer we get to 1 August 2025.
It’s important to remember that the closure of the Redcare operations has implications that go beyond those of security. Other systems may rely on it for the remote signalling functionality, including fire alarms, fridge temperature alarms, sprinklers and water leak detection equipment.
Factors to Take into Consideration When Looking at Alternative Systems
It is essential that the installation of a new system is undertaken by a company regulated by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), or the Security Systems and Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB).
It is also crucial that your replacement service provides the same or better performance level as your current Redcare product. If you are unsure about whether the alternative systems you are considering meet the required standards specified by your insurer, please get in touch to discuss it with us.
